Dr Wayne Dyer

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer is one of the most popular, influential, and prolific contemporary self-help writers and teachers. His 1976 book Your Erroneous Zones has sold over 30 million copies.

Dyer received his Doctor of Education in counseling from Wayne State University. Initially pursuing an academic career, his lectures at New York's St. John's University, which focused on positive thinking and motivational speaking techniques, attracted an audience beyond those enrolled. Dyer was persuaded to collect his ideas in book form, resulting in Your Erroneous Zones. Dyer followed his success with lecture tours, a series of audiotapes, and regular publication of new books.

A compelling speaker, Dyer tells followers to pursue Self actualization, calling reliance on the self as a guide a "religious" experience, and suggested that readers emulate Jesus Christ, who he termed both an example of a self-actualized person, and a "preacher of self-reliance". [Dan P. McAdams (2006). The Redemptive Self: Stories Americans Live by. Oxford University Press]

Throughout the 1990s Dyer began to include more Spirituality in his work. His current book Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life, and focus, is on the wisdom of the Tao Te Ching or Great Way, Lao tzu's classic work.

Wayne Dyer has undoubtedly attained great material success as a result of his Spritually focused teachings. This can be an indicator both of the quality of the teachings or of the selling-out of their creator. Having recently had the privilege to watch Dyer speak I can confirm that this enlightened individual still has much to offer those treading the path of self-fulfillment.

Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao
Five hundred years before the birth of Jesus, a God-realized being named Lao-tzu in ancient China dictated 81 verses, which are regarded by many as the ultimate commentary on the nature of our existence. The classic text of these 81 verses, called the Tao Te Ching or the Great Way, offers advice and guidance that is balanced, moral, spiritual, and always concerned with working for the good.
In this book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and has written 81 distinct essays on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Lao-tzu to today’s modern world. This work contains the entire 81 verses of the Tao, compiled from Wayne’s researching of 12 of the most well-respected translations of text that have survived for more than 25 centuries. Each chapter is designed for actually living the Tao or the Great Way today. Some of the chapter titles are “Living with Flexibility,” “Living Without Enemies,” and “Living by Letting Go.” Each of the 81 brief chapters focuses on living the Tao and concludes with a section called “Doing the Tao Now.”
Wayne spent one entire year reading, researching, and meditating on Lao-tzu’s messages, practicing them each day and ultimately writing down these essays as he felt Lao-tzu wanted you to know them.

This is a work to be read slowly, one essay a day. As Wayne says, “This is a book that will forever change the way you look at your life, and the result will be that you’ll live in a new world aligned with nature. Writing this book changed me forever, too. I now live in accord with the natural world and feel the greatest sense of peace I’ve ever experienced. I’m so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me.”

The Power of Intention The Power of Intention
For years Wayne Dyer has been researching the power of intention, the energy that surrounds all of us. He tells us how we can train ourselves to tune in to this source energy and step beyond our minds and egos. When we do this we become what Dyer calls 'Connectors' and make ourselves available to the energy of success.

Real Magic: Creating Miracles in Everyday Life Real Magic: Creating Miracles in Everyday Life
In this inspirational guide, Wayne Dyer reveals seven beliefs central to working miracles in our everyday lives. From "creating a miracle mind-set" and achieving change in the areas of personal health, prosperity, and fulfilling love relationships to believing in the magic of miracles on a global scale, Dyer shows us that miracles are within our reach - and within our own minds.

Pulling Your Own Strings: Dynamic Techniques for Dealing with Other People and Living Your Life as You Choose Pulling Your Own Strings: Dynamic Techniques for Dealing with Other People and Living Your Life as You Choose
Wayne Dyer reveals how we all can prevent ourselves from being victimised by others and begin to operate from a position of power at the centre of our own lives. Asserting that we alone are responsible for how much we will be controlled by others, Dyer offers his practical plan for developing new attitudes toward the most common sources of victimisation and manipulation, such as family members and authority figures in the workplace.

For example, families can be tremendously coercive and demanding, but they can also be an immensely rewarding part of your life. Dyer shows how to cope with the negative side and contribute to the positive.

Also, in their working life many people stay in unfulfilling jobs because they feel constrained by their present experience or because they fear change. Dyer shows that by being enthusiastic and flexible, you can find the work that makes you happy.

In this modern–day classic, Dyer shows you how to stop being the victim in all aspects of everyday life and to take charge of your destiny.

10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace
Bestselling author and lecturer Wayne Dyer has written a thought-provoking book for those of us who have chosen to consciously be on our life path. The ten "secrets" for success and inner peace presented here apply whether you’re just embarking on your path, are nearing the end of it, or are on the path in any way. Dr. Dyer urges you to read these ten secrets with an open heart. By doing so, you’ll learn to feel the peace of God that truly defines success.

Dr. Dyer shares his view that we’re living in an age of spiritual deficiency. We have more than enough information in our society—it’s spirituality that’s lacking.

First and foremost, spiritually advanced people must have a "burning desire" to become as spiritually fulfilled as possible—even if they’re seen as running against the pack, or, as his spiritual mentor, Henry David Thoreau said, "marching to the beat of their own drummer."

Dyer’s ten principles include:

  • Being open to everything and attached to nothing.
  • Understanding that there are no justified resentments in life.
  • Embracing silence, since meditation is the only way to truly come to know your Source.
  • Knowing that you can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.
  • Treating yourself as if you already are what you’d like to become.

Your Erroneous Zones Your Erroneous Zones
If you're plagued by guilt or worry and find yourself falling unwittingly into the same old self-destructive patterns, then you have "erroneous zones" -- whole facets of your approach to life that act as barriers to your success and happiness. Wayne Dyer can now help you break free!

If you believe that you have no control over your feeling and reactions, Dyer reveals how much you can take charge of yourself and manage how much you let difficult situations affect you. If you spend more time worrying what others think than working on what you want and need, Dyer points the way to true self-reliance. From self-image problems to over-dependence upon others, Dyer gives you the tools you need to enjoy life to the fullest.
