Self Help Sanctum

Not Another Self Help Site!

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. Viktor Frankl

The Self Help sanctum is not just another self help site.

Unlike many of this genre we make no promise of being a quick fix panacea.

Instead, the sanctum presents a growing collection of ideas - some from me, some (hopefully) from you, yet more from the best of the Web - that the reader is invited to consider to help them along their personal journey.

Anxious, Confused, Overwhelmed...

Our aim is to provide help (or at least inspiration) for serious conditions such as depression, addiction and low self-confidence, as well as common concerns like relationships, career, wealth, success and more.

For as long as I can remember I've faced all manner of issues/challenges in negotiating my own pathway through life. Having succeeded in making a "half century" I feel the time is right to share some of the philosophy I've picked up along the way in the hope that others may benefit from what I (at times) learned the hard way.

Life! We're all in it Together

So we might as well help each other. The sanctum is no personal soapbox. It includes pointers to some of the best ideas found across the Web and positively encourages comment and contribution from you, its readers.

Nor does the sanctum claim to be the fount of all knowledge. People are not atoms, but unique individuals. What serves one, won't necessarily work for another. Everything presented here is intended to be evaluated against your particular character and circumstances. If it doesn't feel right, don't do it. If you have found a different approach that works for you, please share your experience that fellow travelers might benefit.

Finally, on a personal level, I have found that interpreting my experiences from a spiritual perspective helps me make sense of a seemingly chaotic world. As such, my own contributions may allude to some greater, spiritual, reality of which our current experience is but the tiniest fragment. I have no intention to preach unprovable beliefs to others and hope that the sanctum offers plenty of food for thought even discounting any spiritual undertones. Indeed, spirituality is a uniquely personal understanding that I can only invite others to discover for themselves.

Life is an amazing adventure with opportunity around every corner just waiting to be grasped. Enjoy, be inspired, share...
